It may not be the distinction they wanted, but DhillDucks stand alone at the Overwatch Champions Series 2025 — North America Stage 3.
In falling 3-0 to Team Z on Sunday, DhillDucks are the lone winless team remaining in the event at 0-4.
With the top three teams in the standings all having the day off, Sakura Esports beat Extinction 3-1 in Sunday’s other match, moving Sakura to 2-2 while dropping Extinction to 1-2.
The online tournament features eight teams. With Week 3 complete, the regular season is at its halfway point.
The top six teams in the standings will advance to the double-elimination regional playoffs. The top three finishers in the playoffs will earn Overwatch Champions Series 2025 World Finals invitations as well as cash prizes of $30,000 (first), $20,000 (second) $14,500 (third) and less for lower finishers.
In a matchup of the only remaining teams without a win entering Sunday, Team Z seemingly had little trouble with DhillDucks, winning 2-1 on Ilios Control, 3-2 on King’s Row Hybrid, and 3-0 on Suravasa Flashpoint.
Sakura took the initial lead with a 2-0 win on Lijiang Tower Control. Extinction responded with a 3-2 win on Watchpoint: Gibraltar Escort to even the match. But after Sakura won on Esperanca Push 123.89m-53.55m, Extinction could not muster another comeback, falling 3-2 on King’s Row Hybrid.
Play resumes next Saturday with a pair of matches: Sakura taking on NTMR and Extinction facing unbeaten Geekay Esports.
