OVERWATCH News: Atlanta Reign advance to Midseason Madness grand final

The Atlanta Reign recorded a 3-2 victory over the Houston Outlaws on Saturday to advance to the grand final of the Overwatch League’s Midseason Madness in Seoul.

The Reign posted a 2-0 win on Ilios before dropping a 1-0 decision on Blizzard World. Atlanta then sandwiched a 1-0 triumph on Rialto and a 2-0 victory on Nepal around a 1-0 setback on New Queen Street.

Jeong “Stalk3r” Hak-yong of South Korea was named the match MVP.

The Reign will await the winner of the lower-bracket final pitting the Outlaws against the Florida Mayhem.

The Mayhem punched their ticket to that clash with a 3-0 victory over Boston Uprising. Florida collected a 2-1 win on Antarctic Peninsula, a 1-0 triumph on King’s Row and a 3-0 victory on Shambali Monastery.

Ham “SOMEONE” Jeong-wan of South Korea was named the match MVP.

The winning team will earn a $500,000 prize out of the $1,080,000 prize pool.

The tournament continues Saturday night (all times ET):
–Florida Mayhem vs. Houston Outlaws (lower-bracket finals, 9 p.m.)
–Atlanta Reign vs. TBD (grand finals, Saturday 11 p.m.)

4. Boston Uprising — $100,000
