Tong Jia Bao Esports won the PUBG Peacekeeper Elite League Fall 2024 title on Sunday in Shenzhen, China, allowing them to qualify for the PUBG Mobile Global Championship.
The grand finals consisted of 18 rounds played from Friday through Sunday, and Tong Jia Bao accumulated 134 points to notch the narrow victory.
They placed first in Rounds 13 (Sanhok) and 14 (Erangel) early in the day, racking up eight and 13 kills, respectively. TJB had just enough by day’s end to fend of LGD Gaming, which came in second with 131 points.
A prize pool of more than $2.5 million was up for grabs. Tong Jia Bao took home about $717,500 for first prize. TJB’s Chen Yumeng won Finals MVP honors, which came with a bonus of $70,759.35.
The tournament began with 20 teams playing a seven-week regular season. The playoffs ran Sept. 26-29, after which the top four teams from the regular season and the top 12 teams from the playoffs advanced to the finals. Prize money was distributed weekly during the regular season as well as at the end of the finals.
Teams were also given “headstart points” for the finals based on prior results. Tong Jia Bao, which finished third in the playoffs, managed to win despite starting with just five headstart points.
