Team BDS topped Team Falcons 4-2 on Sunday in the Rocket League grand final at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

It was a strong start for Team BDS, who opened the match with a 1-0 win on Mannfield (Night). Things quickly took a turn for the worse, though, as Team Falcons took Forbidden Temple 6-1 before securing a 2-1 overtime victory on DFH Stadium.

However, that would be the closest Team Falcons got to the title. BDS used wins on Utopia Coliseum (Dusk) and Aquadome (Salty Shallows) to go up 3-2 in the match, then prevailed 2-1 in overtime on Neo Tokyo for the first-place prize of $200,000 and 1,000 Esports World Cup Club Championship Points.

Both Team BDS and Team Falcons got through Sunday’s semifinals with relative ease, as BDS doubled up Gen.G Mobil1 Racing 4-2 and Falcons crushed G2 Stride, 4-1.

Sixteen teams participated in the group stage of the tournament, which featured four groups of four playing best-of-five matches. The top two teams in each group landed in the playoffs, while the bottom two teams were eliminated.

The single-elimination playoffs started on Saturday, and all matches were best-of-seven.

Esports World Cup Rocket League prize pool:
1. $200,000, 1,000 Esports World Cup Club Championship Points — Team BDS
2. $80,000, 600 points — Team Falcons
3-4. $40,000, 275 points — Gen.G Mobil1 Racing, G2 Stride
5-8. $20,000, 60 points — Chiefs Esports Club, FURIA Esports, Team Vitality, Spacestation Gaming
9-12. $10,000, no points — Twisted Minds, PWR, Team Secret, Gentle Mates Alpine
13-16. $5,000, no points — Limitless, XO Esports, Nkosi Ballers, Gaimin Gladiators
