A 15-year-old teenager in Orlando, Florida has been arrested on Saturday for the murder of a 6-year-old girl who was killed when bullets entered the living room of her home, more than a week ago. Her mother was also injured. The 6-year -old died of her injuries on Thursday, while her mother is reportedly recovering in the hospital. A 19-year- old was also shot and killed and investigations on his death are ongoing.
Police arrested a 15-year-old from Florida and charged him with first-degree murder. Some outlets named the teen Nico Brown as they said that he was arrested on murder charges. They also reported that he was smirking when he was arrested and handcuffed by the police. Others did not name him but said that a 15-year-old was detained on charges of first-degree murder, in Orlando, Florida.
Another 19-year-old Isaiyah Wright was also shot and killed on the same night. He arrived and later died at another hospital —Health Central in Ocoee, and police continue to investigate this shooting incident.
According to the police, the young girl Alahliyah Hashim was in the living room of her home, located near the intersection of Poppy Avenue and Raleigh Street, in the Carver Shores neighborhood in Orlando, with her mother. She was shot in her home at around 8.20 p.m. during a drive by shooting on August 29 and was taken to the hospital. Neighbors reported the shooting that took place from a car.
Police said that the mother and daughter had not been the intended victims of the shooting. Alahliyah Hashim studied at Eagle Nest elementary school.
The Orlando Police arrested Nico Brown days later. His juvenile record in not in the public domain. The Orlando police have asked the public to share any information they might have about the shooting incident.
