Oregon’s Sedona Prince withdraws from draft, to transfer instead

Former Oregon star Sedona Prince withdrew from the WNBA draft on Thursday, with multiple reports saying Prince instead entered the transfer portal.

Prince missed the 2022-23 season after having surgery for a torn elbow ligament in October. Prince had already graduated Oregon, and the program said in a statement that the surgery meant the 6-foot-7 forward’s playing days with the Ducks had concluded.

Prince sat out the first two seasons of her collegiate career, first while a freshman at Texas because of a broken leg and then as a sophomore in 2019-20 due to transfer rules at the time.

Across two full seasons for Oregon, Prince averaged 9.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.

Prince became known across women’s basketball for pointing out inequities between the men’s and women’s NCAA basketball tournaments in a social media post during the 2021 “bubble” tournament.
