Emma and Dexter spend graduation night together and then go their separate ways, yet their lives remain connected.
The series “One Day” explores themes of friendship, sorrow, and expectations pleasantly. The UK-based story, adapted by Nicole Taylor from David Nicholls’ bestselling novel, chronicles the lives of Emma Morley (Ambika Mod) and Dexter Mayhew (Leo Woodall) from 1988 until 2007. The original adaptation, five years after another well-known adaptation of the novel, the 2011 movie starred Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess, was quite a tear-jerker.
It may be emotional to watch for some, and the series will undoubtedly bring tears and smiles, as the interaction between Dex and Emma is compelling due to a lifetime of dreadful communication mistakes.
