Tycen McDaniels had 12 points, Bryson Calamese had 11 points and Nick Woodard had nine points on three 3-pointers for the Braves (0-7), who have played all seven games on the road.

Reid, a transfer from Alabama and one of four transfers starting for the Sooners, had eight points and five rebounds in the second half.

Oklahoma outscored Alcorn State 37-20 in the second half and extended its lead to as many as 21 points after leading 35-33 at halftime.

The Sooners shot only 33.3% from the field and 9-of-31 from 3-point range, but had a 46-38 rebounding advantage after dominating the Braves 27-13 on the boards in the second half.

Alcorn State shot 37.7% from the field and made 8 of 18 from 3-point range.

The Braves spurted to an early 22-19 lead on a five-point possession that concluded an 8-0 run midway through the first half.

Sooners’ center Mohamed Wague (six points, eight rebounds) was called for a personal foul and a technical foul when he fell on the Braves’ Mike Jones as the two contested a rebound under the Alcorn State basket.

Jones made two free throws, and Calamese hit a 3-pointer as the Braves retained the ball.

Woodard’s third 3-pointer of the first half extended the Braves’ lead to 31-27 before the Sooners finished the half on an 8-2 run for their two-point lead at the break.
