Tiare Jennings hit a two-run double in the ninth inning as two-time defending champion Oklahoma advanced to the championship series of the Women’s College World Series with a 4-2 victory over Stanford at Oklahoma City, Okla.
The top-seeded Sooners (57-1) extended their Division I record to 51 consecutive victories while advancing to their fourth consecutive championship series. Oklahoma will face either No. 3 Florida State or No. 4 Tennessee.
Oklahoma starter Nicole May gave up two runs on four hits over five innings, while Jordy Bahl followed with four scoreless innings, giving up four hits. The duo combined for nine strikeouts. Jayda Coleman and Alynah Torres each drove in a run for the Sooners.
Kylie Chung hit a two-run home run for Stanford (47-15) in the first inning. Cardinal starter Alana Vawter gave up two runs over four innings, while Nijaree Canady gave up two runs over five innings.
The best-of-three championship series begins Wednesday.
