Seattle Reign FC re-signed longtime midfielder Jess Fishlock to a one-year deal on Thursday for the 2025 season.

The 37-year-old Wales international is an original member of the club, debuting with the franchise in 2013.

Fishlock was the 2021 NWSL MVP and has made the league’s Best XI seven times, most recently in 2021.

“Jess Fishlock is a legendary player for our club, instrumental in establishing Seattle Reign FC’s presence both in the U.S. and worldwide,” general manager Lesle Gallimore said. “With a career spanning over two decades, we’re incredibly fortunate that she has chosen Seattle as her home for most of that time. Her leadership, football intelligence and competitive spirit make her invaluable to our team, and we’re thrilled that she will be extending her career here in 2025.”

Fishlock ranks second in Reign history in appearances (224) and is one of five NWSL players with at least 40 goals (42) and 25 assists (28), joining Jess McDonald, Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe and Lynn Williams.

“I’ve always believed in this club and the environment we have established here,” Fishlock said. “Whether it’s winning three Shields, breaking attendance records or making historic runs, I know how much we value greatness at the Reign. I’m looking forward to creating more memories with this club and our community as we continue to rise to new levels in 2025.”
