Rose Lavelle scored what ended up being the match-winning goal just before halftime as NJ/NY Gotham topped the Orlando Pride 3-1 on Sunday night in Harrison, N.J.

Lavelle found the back of the net in the first minute of first-half stoppage time, helping NJ/NY (16-4-5, 53 points) extend its unbeaten streak to seven matches (6-0-1). Sam Hiatt and Ella Stevens also scored for Gotham.

Adriana made good on a penalty kick in the 31st minute to provide Orlando’s lone goal. The Pride (17-2-6, 57 points) have dropped back-to-back matches after opening the season with a 23-match unbeaten run.

Stevens put the match away just after halftime, sending a right-footed shot past Orlando goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse in the 49th minute.

Spirit 2, Red Stars 0

Aubrey Kingsbury needed to make just two saves for a clean sheet, lifting host Washington to a win over Chicago.

Heather Stainbrook and Makenna Morris each tallied a goal as the Spirit (17-6-2, 53 points) earned their fifth victory in seven matches.

Red Stars goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher faced constant pressure all night, with Washington putting 12 shots on target. Naeher turned away 10, but the two that got by her were enough to give Chicago (10-13-2, 32 points) its third loss in four matches.

Angel City 1, Royals 1

Sydney Leroux leveled the match in the 57th minute as Angel City and Utah played to a draw in Los Angeles.

Claudia Zornoza put the Royals (7-14-4, 25 points) ahead with a left-footed strike off a free kick in the 21st minute. All was going well for Utah until Leroux cashed in following a corner.

Angel City FC (7-12-6, 24 points) earned a pair of corners in second-half stoppage time, but nothing came from either opportunity.
