Alyssa Thompson recorded a brace to lift visiting Angel City to a 2-1 victory over the San Diego Wave on Saturday.
Thompson did all of her damage during a nine-minute span in the first half, scoring in the 20th minute before adding her second goal in the 29th. Angel City (5-9-3, 18 points) snapped a three-match losing streak with the victory.
It looked like San Diego (3-8-6, 15 points) was going to be shut out for the fourth straight match, but Abby Dahlkemper found the back of the net in the seventh minute of second-half stoppage time.
Delphine Cascarino had a look at a potential equalizer one minute later, but her shot was blocked.
DiDi Haracic was forced to make just one save for Angel City. Kailen Sheridan made four for the Wave.
Gotham 2, Thorns 0
Ann-Katrin Berger made three saves to come away with a clean sheet and NJ/NY blanked Portland in Harrison, N.J.
Ella Stevens scored in the seventh minute and Yazmeen Ryan doubled the Gotham’s lead in the 70th, giving NJ/NY (10-3-4, 34 points) its ninth win in 12 matches.
Shelby Hogan finished with seven saves for the Thorns (8-6-3, 27 points), who are 2-3-2 on the heels of a six-match winning streak.
Racing Louisville 3, Red Stars 1
Marisa DiGrande scored the go-ahead goal in the 61st as host Louisville topped Chicago.
DiGrande’s goal came just two minutes after Jameese Joseph had tied things at 1-1 for the Red Stars (7-8-2, 23 points).
Uchenna Kanu and Kayla Fischer also scored for Racing Louisville (4-6-7, 19 points), who broke out of a five-match winless streak (0-4-1). Chicago had won its previous two matches before Saturday’s setback.
