Davis Fogle scored 17 points and No. 8 Gonzaga defeated Pepperdine for the 51st consecutive time, sailing to an 84-60 victory over the Waves in West Coast Conference play on Wednesday night at Spokane, Wash.

Mario Saint-Supery had 12 points, five rebounds and five steals, Tyon Grant-Foster also scored 12 points as the short-handed Bulldogs (20-1, 8-0 WCC) continued their longstanding dominance of the Waves.

Gonzaga’s streak is one shy of the all-time Division I record for victories over a single opponent. UCLA defeated Cal 52 straight times from 1961-85.

Adam Miller added 11 points, Noah Haaland had 10 points and Ismaila Diagne collected 10 rebounds and three blocked shots for the Bulldogs, who won their 13th straight game and notched their 29th consecutive 20-win season. Only Kansas (37) has a longer active streak of 20-win campaigns.

Gonzaga never trailed despite playing without leading scorer and rebounder Graham Ike (ankle) for the second straight game. The Bulldogs also remain without standout Braden Huff (knee), who will be sidelined for another three to seven weeks.

Styles Phipps scored 13 points to lead Pepperdine (6-15, 1-7), which lost for the seventh time in eight games. Aaron Clark added 10 points for the Waves.

Pepperdine dropped its 26th straight game in Spokane since claiming a 65-64 victory on Feb. 19, 1998.

Pepperdine made 37.9% of its attempts and was just 3-of-22 (13.6%) from behind the arc.

The Bulldogs shot 47% from the field, including 5 of 20 from 3-point range. Gonzaga had an 18-2 edge in fast-break points.

Gonzaga notched win No. 50 in a row against the Waves with a 96-56 rout on Dec. 28 in Malibu, Calif.

Pepperdine trailed just 18-16 after a three-point play by Phipps with 10:44 remaining in the first half before Gonzaga began to create distance with seven straight points.

Pepperdine was down seven after a layup by Stefan Cicic with 7:32 to play, and then the Bulldogs responded with 10 consecutive points to start a 16-2 run.

Miller’s layup capped the 10-0 portion as Gonzaga led 37-20 with four minutes left. Grant-Foster’s layup ended the overall burst to give the Bulldogs a 43-22 advantage with 2:15 remaining.

The Zags led 47-29 at halftime. Fogle had 11 points in the half and Grant-Foster scored 10. Phipps had nine first-half points for the Waves.

Gonzaga continued to lead comfortably throughout the second half. The lead reached 25 when Haaland scored on a putback with 13:14 left in the contest.

Another putback by Haaland pushed the lead to a game-high 30 at 76-46 with 4:41 remaining.
