No. 22 Auburn extended the nation’s longest home winning streak to 27 games with a 72-59 win over No. 13 Arkansas on Saturday night.

Wendell Green Jr. led the Tigers with 19 points, and Allen Flanigan added 18 points and eight rebounds off the bench for Auburn (12-3, 2-1 SEC).

Johni Broome added his fourth double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) of the season in addition to blocking six shots. Jaylin Williams scored nine points for Auburn.

The Tigers’ defense limited Arkansas to 33.9 shooting from the field, including 2 of 16 from the 3-point line. The Tigers had 25 points off 14 Arkansas turnovers.

Dynamic freshman Anthony Black led Arkansas (12-3, 1-2) with a game-high 23 points after getting into foul trouble in the first half. He added seven rebounds and four assists.

Razorbacks leading scorer Ricky Council IV was limited to 14 points, four below his average, on 5-of-15 shooting. Jalen Graham added five points and six rebounds off the bench.

Jordan Walsh had six points and 10 rebounds, and Makhi Mitchell chipped in six points and seven rebounds for Arkansas, which had a hard time dealing with Auburn’s pressure defense.

Auburn held a 24-14 lead over nine minutes into the game behind 10 points from Green and eight from Flanigan. A monster dunk by Council and a hook shot by Mitchell cut Auburn’s lead to 28-23 with 5:20 to play in the half.

A 3-pointer by Tre Donaldson put the Tigers up 31-24 with a little over three minutes to play until halftime. Auburn closed the first half on a 5-1 run, which put the team up 36-25 at the break.

Auburn held a 15-point lead early in the second half, but a 5-0 run trimmed the Tigers lead to 42-32 nearly five minutes in.

With nearly eight minutes to go in the game, Auburn maintained a 55-41 lead. Two free throws by Green put Auburn up 70-58 with 40 seconds to play.
