Mark Mitchell scored a career-high 25 points to lead No. 21 Missouri to an 82-58 rout of Oklahoma on Wednesday in Southeastern Conference action at Columbia, Mo.

Mitchell’s performance pushed him past the 1,000-career point milestone.

Caleb Grill scored 15 points, Tony Perkins added 12 and Anthony Robinson II chipped in 10 for the Tigers (18-6, 7-4 SEC), who improved to 16-1 at home this season.

Duke Miles scored 18 points and Jalon Moore added 10 for the Sooners (16-8, 3-8), who lost their third straight game, all against ranked opponents.

Missouri shot 54.2 percent from the floor and outscored Oklahoma 40-24 in the paint.

Oklahoma stayed close early by claiming five early offensive rebounds and scoring its first eight points on second-chance opportunities.

Missouri moved ahead 23-11 with a 14-3 run sparked by Jacob Crews’ transition 3-pointer.

Jeremiah Fears steadied the Sooners by driving to the basket for a three-point play, but the Tigers answered by isolating Mitchell for attacks off the dribble.

After the Sooners cut their deficit to 31-22 with Dayton Forsythe’s 3-point jumper and a free throw by Miles, the Tigers closed the half with a 13-2 surge.

Mitchell started the run with a fastbreak dunk and he capped it with two free throws as Missouri pushed its lead to 44-24 at the break.

The Sooners had 13 turnovers in the sloppy first half, five more than the Tigers. Oklahoma put up eight more shots than Missouri in the first 20 minutes, but the Sooners shot 7 for 32 from the floor and 3 for 13 from 3-point range.

Oklahoma outscored Missouri 6-2 to open the second half with Miles converting a three-point play and Brycen Goodine hitting a 3-pointer.

The Sooners chipped the lead down to 15 with 13:14 left but Grill hit consecutive 3-pointers to push Missouri’s edge to 67-52 and effectively end OU’s comeback hopes.
