Ed Croswell scored a career-high 25 points and Jared Bynum drilled six 3-pointers for all 18 of his points as No. 20 Providence cruised past Georgetown 88-68 on Sunday at Washington, D.C.

Croswell added 13 rebounds and six assists for the Friars (21-8, 13-5 Big East), while Bynum also had six assists. Noah Locke chipped in 12 points, as did Devin Carter, who added seven rebounds and five assists.

Primo Spears tallied 26 points to lead Georgetown (7-23, 2-17), which has lost its last 12 games against Top-25 teams. Its last win came on March 13, 2021, when the Hoyas blasted No. 17 Creighton 73-48 in the Big East Tournament championship game.

Jay Heath supplied 19 points for Georgetown on 5-of-8 shooting from 3-point range and added three assists. No other Georgetown scorer tallied more than six points.

The Hoyas drilled four 3-pointers early in the second half to trim the Friars’ lead to 49-39, but Georgetown went cold from the floor as Providence seized control.

After Locke and Spears traded jumpers, Croswell’s layup kickstarted an 18-1 Friars run fueled by two of Bynum’s 3-pointers that ballooned their lead to 69-42 with 10:57 to play.

Georgetown never got closer than 16 points from there as the Friars racked up 23 assists and held an overwhelming 46-20 advantage in points in the paint.

In the first half, Providence overcame three early fouls by leading scorer Bryce Hopkins by engineering a 24-5 run that gave them a comfortable cushion midway through the period.

Bynum, Carter and Alyn Breed each buried a 3-pointer before Clifton Moore’s soaring two-handed dunk down the middle of the lane stretched the Friars’ lead to 32-16.

Spears scored seven straight points for the Hoyas to pull within 12, but Croswell and Carter powered a 7-0 run to close out the half with Providence leading 46-27.

Even with Hopkins on the bench for the final 16:09 of the first half, the Friars shot 6 of 10 from 3-point range and compounded their efficient long-range scoring with 24 first-half points in the paint.
