Flory Bidunga and Tre White each recorded 18 points and eight rebounds to help No. 17 Kansas soar to a 90-61 victory over Davidson on Monday night in nonconference action in Lawrence, Kan.

Kohl Rosario added 13 points and Bryson Tiller scored 11 for the Jayhawks (10-3), who never trailed while winning their fourth consecutive game.

Melvin Council Jr. contributed 10 points, nine assists and seven rebounds and Jamari McDowell also scored 10 points for Kansas.

Roberts Blums had 13 points and seven rebounds for Davidson (8-4), which lost for the third time in the past four games.

The Wildcats sank just 35.8 percent of their field-goal attempts and were 11 of 30 from behind the arc.

Kansas star freshman Darryn Peterson (quadriceps cramping) missed his second straight game. He has missed nine games this season.

The Jayhawks shot a sizzling 57.8 percent from the field, including 11 of 21 from 3-point range. Kansas held a 42-31 rebounding advantage.

Only 11 free-throw attempts occurred in the speedy game. Kansas made all five of its attempts while the Wildcats were 2 of 6.

White made 4 of 5 from 3-point range in the first half while scoring 16 points to help the Jayhawks hold a 51-30 halftime lead.

Kansas ripped out to a quick 19-6 advantage and later led 34-15 after White’s trey with 7:41 left in the half.

Another 3-pointer by White pushed the lead to 20 at 46-26 with 3:19 remaining.

Council’s layup made it 51-27 with just under one minute to go.

Kansas ran off seven straight points early in the second half with Bidunga’s basket pushing the lead to 28.

A short time later, Rosario made two treys in 25 seconds as the Jayhawks took a 66-35 lead with 14:12 left.

Joel Hurlburt scored five points during Davidson’s ensuing 10-0 run to cut its deficit to 21.

The Kansas lead got back to 30 when McDowell canned a 3-point play with 8:48 remaining.

The Jayhawks’ lead topped out at 35.
