Ilya Samsonov made 23 saves to win his fifth straight start and Pavel Dorofeyev scored what proved to be the game-winner during Vegas’ three-goal second period as the Golden Knights rallied to defeat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2 on Thursday in Las Vegas.

Mark Stone had a goal and an assist, Nicolas Hague, Alexander Holtz and Tanner Pearson also scored and Jack Eichel and Noah Hanifin each had two assists for Vegas, which improved to 5-0-1 in its past six meetings with the Flyers.

Samsonov improved to 13-2-0 all-time against Philadelphia.

Tyson Foerster and Travis Konecny scored goals for the Flyers. Aleksei Kolosov finished with 22 saves.

Philadelphia took a 1-0 lead 21 seconds into the game when Foerster ripped in a rebound from the low slot of a Noah Cates shot for his fifth goal in the past seven games.

Vegas, limited to four shots on goal in the first period, bounced back to take a 3-1 lead in the second period, scoring on its first two shots of the stanza.

Stone tied it at the 51-second mark when he redirected Eichel’s backhand pass into the crease past Kolosov’s left pad. Hague then gave the Golden Knights a 2-1 lead when he drove around the net and wrapped in a shot around the right post at 2:13.

Dorofeyev extended the lead to 3-1 at the 18:22 mark with a blast through traffic from above the right faceoff circle past Kolosov’s blocker side for his career-high 14th goal.

Holtz made it 4-1 at 2:46 of the third period. His shot from the left circle deflected off the leg of defenseman Jamie Drysdale and sailed over the extended glove of Kolosov.

The Flyers closed within 4-2 on a tally by Konecny at 4:56, his career-best eighth power-play goal of the season.

Philadelphia pulled Kolosov for an extra attacker with 2:20 remaining, and Pearson sealed the win with an empty-netter with 36 seconds to go.
