Matt Duchene scored twice and added an assist as the Dallas Stars thumped the host San Jose Sharks 8-3 on Saturday night.

Thomas Harley, Jamie Benn, and Wyatt Johnston each scored and added an assist for Dallas, which won for the sixth time in eight games. Jason Robertson, Mason Marchment, and Mavrik Bourque also scored for the Stars, who snapped a two-game skid.

Mikael Granlund, acquired by the Stars from the Sharks on Feb. 1, had two assists in his return to the Bay Area. Lian Bichsel also had a pair of helpers, and Casey DeSmith made 24 saves.

William Eklund, Fabian Zetterlund and Walker Duehr responded for the Sharks, who have lost 10 of their last 11 games. Vitek Vanecek stopped 26 shots.

San Jose jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, scoring a pair inside the first three minutes of the opening period.

Eklund opened the scoring at 1:25, one-timing a Macklin Celebrini pass past DeSmith.

San Jose doubled its lead 1:21 later as Zetterlund put home his own rebound at the side of the net for his 15th of the season.

The Stars responded with seven unanswered.

Duchene got Dallas on the board, snapping a wrist shot that deflected off Sharks defenseman Jake Walman and past Vanecek.

The Stars tied it 2-2 as Robertson put home the rebound of Mathew Dumba’s point shot at 10:08 of the first.

Marchment gave the Stars their first lead, banking a loose puck off Vanecek and in at 13:24.

Duchene doubled Dallas’ lead on a power play, tipping Harley’s point shot past Vanecek at 7:30 of the middle frame.

The Stars opened a three-goal lead as Bourque snapped a shot far side on Vanecek at 15:42 of the second period.

Dallas took a 6-2 lead at 11:20 of the third period as Johnston re-directed a cross-ice feed from Oskar Back past Vanecek.

Harley made it 7-2, snapping a shot short-side past Vanecek at 12:33.

San Jose cut the lead to four as Duehr put home the rebound off Carl Grundstrom’s shot.

Benn restored Dallas’ five-goal lead, snapping a shot glove-side past Vanecek.
