Seth Jarvis scored two goals to help the visiting Carolina Hurricanes rally for a 6-3 win over the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night.

Stefan Noesen and Martin Necas each had a goal and assist for Carolina, which went 2-1-0 on the California portion of its six-game road trip.

Carolina goalie Frederik Andersen made one save before departing with 14:33 left in the first period after getting hit in the mask with a slap shot from Mike Hoffman. Antti Raanta replaced him and finished with 12 saves.

Fabian Zetterlund had a goal and an assist, Filip Zadina and William Eklund also scored and Mackenzie Blackwood made 36 saves for San Jose, which led 3-2 at the start of the third period.

Noesen started the comeback when he scored off a rebound with one second left on a power play to tie it 3-3 at 9:07 of the third.

Jarvis then hammered in a one-timer on another power play to give the Hurricanes a 4-3 lead with 8:09 left.

Carolina went 3-for-7 with the man advantage and scored its fourth short-handed goal of the season.

Necas scored on a wraparound with 5:07 left to extend the lead to 5-3, and Brett Pesce scored 15 seconds later to make it 6-3.

The Hurricanes outshot San Jose 18-5 in the first period but went into intermission with the score tied 1-1.

Zetterlund scored on the first shot attempt by the Sharks to give them a 1-0 lead at 3:14.

Carolina went on a power play 15 seconds later and Jarvis got to a loose puck in front of the net and scored to tie it 1-1 at 4:05.

Hurricanes defenseman Jaccob Slavin scored his second short-handed goal of the season when he picked off a pass in the neutral and finished the breakaway by scoring his own rebound for a 2-1 lead at 8:54 of the second.

The Hurricanes are the fourth NHL team to produce at least four short-handed goals in the first four games of a season, joining the 1971-72 and 1995-96 St. Louis Blues and the 1973-74 Philadelphia Flyers.

Carolina didn’t hold the lead for long, as Zadina scored 17 seconds later on the same power play to tie it 2-2.

Eklund scored with four seconds left on a power play to give the Sharks a 3-2 lead at 16:06 of the second.
