The Ottawa Senators signed free agent forward Tyler Motte to a one-year deal worth $1.35 million on Wednesday.
Motte, 27, tallied 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) in 58 games with the Vancouver Canucks and New York Rangers in 2021-22. He was acquired by the Rangers at the trade deadline.
“Tyler is a tenacious checker who plays the game with pace,” Senators general manager Pierre Dorion said. “He’s a strong penalty killer and another competitive person who adds to the depth of our group.”
For his career, Motte has 62 points (35 goals, 27 assists) over 269 games played with four teams, including parts of five seasons with the Canucks. He was selected in the fourth round of the 2013 NHL Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks.
