Ottawa Senators center Josh Norris is out at least two weeks with an upper-body injury.
The team placed Norris on injured reserve Monday.
Also, goaltender Anton Forsberg will miss Monday night’s game against the Dallas Stars with an undisclosed injury, the Ottawa Sun reported. Magnus Hellberg will get the start in goal, per the report. It will be Hellberg’s third career NHL start.
In a corresponding move, the Senators recalled goalie Kevin Mandolese from AHL affiliate Belleville (Ontario). He will back up Hellberg against the Stars.
The team said Monday it was waiting on MRI results to know more about the severity of the shoulder injury Norris sustained in Saturday’s night’s win over the Arizona Coyotes. Norris suffered the injury in the third period after taking a faceoff. He went down in a heap and headed straight for the locker room.
Norris also missed 15 games last season with a shoulder injury.
Norris, 23, has two points (one goal, one assist) in five games this season. The No. 19 overall pick in 2017 has 92 career points (53 goals, 39 assists) in 130 games.
Derick Brassard is expected to take Norris’ spot on the line and make his season debut Monday night against the Dallas Stars.
Forsberg, 29, missed the morning skate. He is 3-2 this season with a 2.82 goals-against average and .904 save percentage. He’s starting in place of No. 1 netminder Cam Talbot, who’s still weeks away from returning from a fractured rib.
Hellberg has appeared in five career NHL games in four seasons.
