Senators forward Tyler Motte will not play in Sunday afternoon’s game against the visiting St. Louis Blues for trade-related reasons, the Ottawa Sun reported.
Per the report, Motte was told to go home after he arrived at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa.
The report also said no deal has been completed. The NHL trade deadline is March 3.
Motte, 27, has totaled nine points (three goals, six assists) in 38 games this season.
He has 71 points (38 goals, 33 assists) in 307 career games with the Vancouver Canucks, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Rangers and Senators.
