The New York Rangers lost Adam Fox to a lower-body injury Thursday night after he was involved in a knee-on-knee collision with Carolina Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho in the first period.
With 7:51 remaining in the opening period, Fox collided with Aho near the blue line in New York’s offensive zone and hobbled to the bench. He missed the remainder of the opening period and the Rangers announced he would not return shortly after the second period began.
The Rangers entered with seven wins in their first nine games highlighted by a 5-0-0 road trip — the first unbeaten road trip of at least five games in team history.
Fox has three goals and eight assists. His 11 points are second on the Rangers behind Artemi Panarin.
