Sergei Murashov stopped all 21 shots he faced to help the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 4-0 win against the Nashville Predators in the second and final game of the 2025 NHL Global Series on Sunday in Stockholm, Sweden.

Murashov, a 21-year-old Russia native, faced 19 of those shots over the final two periods to earn his first NHL win in his second career start.

Parker Wotherspoon, Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby and Blake Lizotte scored for the Penguins, who snapped a three-game skid (0-1-2) and won for just the second time in seven games.

Juuse Saros stopped 18 of 21 shots for the Predators, who have lost eight of 10 (2-6-2).

After managing just 10 shots on goal through two periods in the first game on Friday, Pittsburgh surpassed that in the opening frame on Sunday by outshooting Nashville 11-2.

Wotherspoon gave the Penguins a 1-0 lead at 2:19 on their third shot on goal. He sent a pass across the blue line to Erik Karlsson, who dished it right back. Wotherspoon then walked the line in search of a lane before firing a snap shot through traffic that beat Saros glove side.

Malkin made it 2-0 at 8:08. Saros stopped Kevin Hayes’ shot from down low, but the rebound bounced behind the net where Malkin collected it for a centering pass to Anthony Mantha in front. Instead, Malkin’s pass went off the skate of Predators defenseman Nic Hague and deflected into the net.

Crosby extended it to 3-0 just more than two minutes later. Saros made a save on Kris Letang from the half wall on the left side, but Justin Barron’s attempt to push the rebound up was intercepted by Crosby in the left circle. The Pittsburgh captain beat Saros short side under his right arm at 10:13.

That prompted Nashville coach Andrew Brunette to call timeout and settle his team down.

Lizotte scored an empty-net goal at 17:12 of the third for the 4-0 final.

The Predators went 0-for-4 on the power play, managing just five shots on goal with the man advantage. Nashville was not whistled for any penalties.
