Owen Tippett scored two goals to lift the host Philadelphia Flyers past the Dallas Stars 5-1 on Thursday.

Sean Walker, Cam Atkinson and Scott Laughton each added one goal as the Flyers outshot the Stars 43-15.

Morgan Frost contributed two assists for the sizzling Flyers, who have won five in a row.

Philadelphia also snapped a seven-game skid against the Stars.

Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson made 14 saves.

Tyler Seguin scored the lone goal for the Stars, who had won two straight and four of five.

Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger stopped 38 shots.

The Flyers jumped out to a 3-1 lead only 44 seconds into the third period when Atkinson corralled a rebound in front and scored on the power play.

Laughton stole the puck and skated in all alone at 9:16 of the third. After Joel Hanley took Laughton down, a penalty shot was awarded. Laughton waited patiently and scored for a 4-1 advantage.

Soon after Pavelski and Hanley each had shots stopped by Ersson, Tippett responded with a spectacular goal for a 5-1 lead at 14:30. Tippett spun around and ripped a backhand into the net.

Travis Konecny had a solid scoring chance with a wrist shot at 13:45 of the first period, but Oettinger made the save. Noah Cates was denied on the backhand at 14:51 and then again with a rebound.

The Stars managed only one shot on goal through the opening 15 minutes and finished with that same number. Philadelphia led 14-1 in shots on goal.

The Flyers went ahead 1-0 at 19:00 when Walker connected following a nifty backhand pass from Frost.

Dallas earned a power play 46 seconds into the second period when Tyson Foerster was whistled for high sticking against Joe Pavelski. Despite setting up for long stretches in the offensive zone, the Stars generated very little pressure and still went without a shot on goal.

Philadelphia took advantage and then pulled ahead 2-0 at 3:03 when Tippett scored from the point after a faceoff win by Sean Couturier.

The Stars closed within 2-1 when Seguin scored at 12:42 on their fourth shot.
