Ryan McLeod scored the go-ahead goal with 3:05 remaining as the Edmonton Oilers extended their franchise-record winning streak to 11 games with a 4-2 victory over the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night.
Edmonton rallied from a 2-0 deficit, capping the comeback with three third-period goals.
Evan Bouchard scored an empty-net goal to seal the win and also had an assist. Leon Draisaitl and Derek Ryan also scored for Edmonton, which hasn’t lost a game since Dec. 19 against the New York Islanders.
Auston Matthews had a goal and an assist, Morgan Rielly also scored and Pontus Holmberg added two assists for Toronto, which lost its fourth straight game (0-3-1) and had a six-game road point streak snapped.
Flames 3, Coyotes 2 (OT)
Yegor Sharangovich scored the overtime winner to give host Calgary a comeback victory over Arizona for its season-high fourth consecutive win.
Nazem Kadri had one goal and one assist and Blake Coleman added a goal for the Flames, who erased a two-goal, third-period deficit for their eighth consecutive home win over the Coyotes.
Sean Durzi collected one goal and one assist and Logan Cooley also scored for the Coyotes. Goaltender Connor Ingram stopped 27 shots.
Blackhawks 2, Sharks 1 (SO)
Boris Katchouk scored in the ninth round of the shootout and Petr Mrazek stopped 37 shots to lift host Chicago to a victory against San Jose.
Sharks goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 24 of 25 shots in regulation and overtime. Cole Guttman opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 10:41 of the first period, sliding a rebound of a Ryan Donato shot from the slot past Blackwood.
San Jose avoided being shut out for the second time in as many days and the eighth time this season at 5:13 of the third period. Ryan Carpenter gathered Justin Bailey’s pass from behind the net and beat Mrazek with a snap shot just outside the crease.
Avalanche 7, Senators 4
Mikko Rantanen scored twice and Colorado scored five straight goals to rally past host Ottawa.
Samuel Girard had three assists, Nathan MacKinnon had two assists and Justus Annunen made 36 saves for the Avalanche, who earned their NHL-best eighth win when trailing after two periods.
Ridly Greig had two goals and Brady Tkachuk and Claude Giroux each had three assists for the Senators, who have lost six of their past seven games. Mads Sogaard made 27 saves.
Rangers 5, Kraken 2
Blake Wheeler scored twice as host New York had little trouble with short-handed Seattle.
Vincent Trocheck, Erik Gustafsson and Kaapo Kakko also scored as the Rangers won their second straight following a season-high, four-game losing streak. It was Wheeler’s second multi-goal game of his first season as a Ranger.
Jordan Eberle and Jared McCann each had a power-play goal and an assist for Seattle, which dropped its second in a row following a team-record, nine-game winning streak. Playing without leading scorer Vince Dunn (undisclosed), the Kraken were also missing Andre Burakovsky (lower body) and Matty Beniers (upper body).
Capitals 2, Ducks 0
Darcy Kuemper made 24 saves for his first shutout of the season as Washington handed visiting Anaheim its third loss in four games.
Kuemper had nine saves in the final 9:17 to record the 31st shutout of his NHL career, moving him into sole possession of eighth place among active NHL goalies. Ethan Bear and Tom Wilson scored for the Capitals, who have won two of their past three.
John Gibson started for the second consecutive day after making 29 saves in a 5-4 overtime win at the Florida Panthers on Monday afternoon. He made 26 saves against the Capitals, but the Ducks were shut out for the fifth time this season.
Stars 5, Kings 1
Roope Hintz, Wyatt Johnston and Evgenii Dadonov each had a goal and an assist as Dallas handed visiting Los Angeles another road loss.
The Stars are 4-1-0 in their past five games, outscoring opponents by a 22-10 margin. Jake Oettinger stopped 31 of 32 shots for his 13th win in 24 games this season.
The Kings finished their six-game road trip with a disappointing 1-3-2 record. Los Angeles snapped an eight-game (0-4-4) winless drought Monday with its 5-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes but couldn’t continue the momentum in Dallas.
Jets 4, Islanders 2
Neal Pionk and Mason Appleton scored in a span of less than three minutes late in the second period as host Winnipeg extended New York’s slide.
Gabriel Vilardi opened the scoring in the first and Kyle Connor added an empty-netter with 1:22 left in the game for the Jets, who have won nine of 10 (9-1-0). Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck made 35 saves as Winnipeg allowed three goals or fewer for the 33rd straight game, tying the 1950-51 Maple Leafs for the fourth-longest streak in NHL history.
Anders Lee scored both goals for the Islanders, who have lost the first three games (0-3-0) of a four-game Western Conference road trip to fall to 5-8-3 since Dec. 15. Goalie Ilya Sorokin recorded 40 saves.
