The Minnesota Wild recalled forward Sammy Walker from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League, the team announced Wednesday.
Walker, 23, notched 27 goals and 21 assists along with a plus-19 rating in 56 games with Iowa this season.
The Minnesota native led the team in goals and power-play goals (9) on the way to its second playoff berth in franchise history.
Walker made his NHL debut on Dec. 10 at Vancouver. He has a goal, an assist and eight shots in nine games with Minnesota this season.
Originally a seventh-round pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2017 NHL Draft, Walker tallied 112 points (48 goals, 64 assists) in 144 games during four seasons at the University of Minnesota (2018-22).
The Wild face the Stars in Dallas tonight for Game 2 of the opening round of the playoffs. Minnesota leads the series, 1-0.
