Mathieu Olivier scored two goals and the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs 6-2 on Tuesday night.
Justin Danforth had a goal and two assists for the Blue Jackets, who completed a four-game home stand at 2-2. Sean Monahan and Kirill Marchenko each added a goal and an assist, James van Riemsdyk also scored and Zach Werenski contributed two assists.
Columbus goaltender Daniil Tarasov stopped 26 shots.
Matthew Knies and Nicholas Robertson scored for the Maple Leafs, who hit the road following a 5-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday.
Toronto goaltender Dennis Hildeby, making his second start of his career, made 32 saves.
Columbus scored three goals in the first period — two of them 52 seconds apart.
Former Maple Leaf van Riemsdyk tucked in the rebound from Ivan Provorov’s shot at 5:29 for his second goal of the season. Danforth followed with his first of the season on a 23-foot wrist shot through the five-hole after a turnover by Toronto defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson.
Olivier snapped a 30-footer on a two-on-one break at 12:42. Toronto was caught pinching in the Columbus end after William Nylander missed a shot.
Columbus took a 4-0 lead at 5:35 of the second period on Monahan’s third goal of the season off a rebound of Marchenko’s shot on a three-on-two.
Zachary Aston-Reese circled behind the net and passed in front to Olivier, who scored his third of the season at 11:36 of the second.
Knies took control of a loose puck before scoring his third goal of the season on a 29-footer at 18:59 of the second.
Marchenko made it 6-1 when he scored his third of the season at 11:58 of the third period. Robertson scored his first of the season at 13:03 of the third.
Toronto’s Max Pacioretty (lower-body injury) did not play in the third period. Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll (groin) was a possibility to start on Tuesday but it was decided that he was not quite ready.
Columbus goaltender Elvis Merzlikins (upper body injury) was out.
