The Toronto Maple Leafs signed star forward William Nylander to an eight-year, $92 million contract extension on Monday.

It is the richest contract in franchise history, according to The Hockey News. TSN reported it includes a full no-trade clause for the 27-year-old right winger.

Nylander entered Monday tied for fifth in the NHL with 54 points (21 goals, 33 assists) in 37 games.

He has 484 points (198 goals, 286 assists) in 558 games since Toronto drafted him with the No. 8 pick in 2014.

It’s the latest big contract awarded by the Maple Leafs.

Last August, Auston Matthews signed a four-year, $43 million extension that takes effect with the 2024-25 season. Forwards John Tavares and Mitch Marner also carry cap hits of more than $10 million.

Nylander is currently playing on the final season of a six-year, $45 million contract signed in 2018.
