Jared McCann had a goal and two assists as the Seattle Kraken opened a five-game homestand with a 6-4 victory against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night.

Jordan Eberle and Shane Wright had a goal and assist apiece and Brandon Montour, Eeli Tolvanen and Oliver Bjorkstrand also tallied for Seattle. Andre Burakovsky added two assists and goaltender Philipp Grubauer made 21 saves for his first victory of the season.

Scott Laughton had two goals and an assist and Cam York and Jamie Drysdale also scored for the Flyers, who went 1-2-1 on their season-opening trip. Ivan Fedotov allowed five goals on 24 shots through two periods before being replaced by Samuel Ersson, who stopped four of five shots in the third.

The Kraken seemingly took control with a four-goal second period.

McCann tied the score at 2-2 with a power-play goal at 3:06, blasting a slap shot between Fedotov’s pads from the high slot.

The Kraken took their first lead at 14:57 as Tolvanen lifted a rebound over a sprawling Fedotov after the goalie stopped Burakovsky’s initial shot.

Seattle scored twice in an eight-second span late in the second to take a 5-2 lead. Eberle tapped in a shot from just outside the right post after a nifty pass from McCann at 17:44, then Eberle set up Wright on a mini-breakaway at 17:52.

York scored on a wrister from the slot at 10:19 of the third to make it 5-3, and Drysdale converted a wrist shot from the blue line on the power play at 12:31 to pull the Flyers within a goal.

Bjorkstrand scored on a breakaway at 14:52 to help clinch the victory.

Philadelphia led 2-1 after the first period on a pair of goals by Laughton. He opened the scoring at 4:21, picking up an errant shot behind the net and stuffing a wraparound past Grubauer.

Montour tied the score at 18:15 on a slap shot from the right point that sneaked between the pads of a screened Fedotov.

The Flyers regained the lead at 18:58 as Laughton beat Grubauer high to the short side from deep on the left wing.
