Jonathan Huberdeau scored the overtime winner and MacKenzie Weegar collected one goal and one assist as the visiting Calgary Flames claimed a 3-2 overtime victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday.

Nazem Kadri also scored for the Flames, who had their moms on a road trip to Southern California that also includes a clash with the Los Angeles Kings. Joel Hanley collected a pair of assists and goaltender Dustin Wolf made 26 saves in an excellent goaltending battle.

While the Flames enjoyed a rare extra-time power play, Anaheim’s Jacob Trouba tried to clear the puck from behind his net, but the puck bounced to the front of the net for Huberdeau to bat out of the air at 2:05. That sent his mother, Josee, celebrating with the other matriarchs.

The Flames have won nine consecutive visits to Anaheim and are on a 12-2-1 run against the Ducks.

Alex Killorn and Mason McTavish scored for the Ducks, who were without top scorer Troy Terry due to the pending birth of a child. Goalie John Gibson stopped 30 shots.

Weegar made his 31st birthday extra special with his mom, Louise, on scene when he opened the scoring with 55.9 seconds remaining in the first period. While Weegar was in front of the net, Hanley’s deflected point shot bounced off his body and into the net for his first goal in 13 games.

Killorn evened the score at 8:34 of the second period. During four-on-four play, Killorn cut to the high slot after gaining the puck on a two-on-two rush; he fired a high shot that found the mark just under the crossbar.

Kadri restored Calgary’s edge four minutes later when he won a faceoff, drove to the net and redirected Weegar’s threaded pass into the net and promptly pointed to his mom, Sue, in the crowd.

But Anaheim tied it again with McTavish’s power-play goal at 7:36 of the third period, a deflection of Cutter Gauthier’s point shot.

The win came at a high price for the Flames. Second-year center Connor Zary departed early in the second period after a knee-on-knee hit from Drew Helleson, who was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct.
