Winnipeg Jets forward Gabriel Vilardi is out four to six weeks with a sprained MCL, coach Rick Bowness told reporters Wednesday.
Vilardi, 24, was injured in the first period of Tuesday night’s loss to the Los Angeles Kings.
Vilardi signed a two-year deal worth $6.875 million with the Jets in July after the team acquired him from the Kings a month earlier in the trade that sent Pierre Luc-Dubois to Los Angeles.
Vilardi has one assist in three games this season and has put nine shots on goal.
He has 79 points (41 goals, 38 assists) in 155 career games, all but three with the Kings.
