Stefan Noesen scored on a power play early in the second period before Dougie Hamilton collected the game-winner midway through the third for the Devils, who have won three of four (3-1-0).

Jack Roslovic scored the game’s first goal and Andrei Svechnikov tied the score early in the third for the Hurricanes, who had their three-game winning streak snapped. Spencer Martin recorded 17 saves.
Roslovic gave the Hurricanes the lead 8:43 into the first. Dmitry Orlov’s shot bounced off a player in front of Markstrom, who had four players surrounding him, before Roslovic poked home the rebound
The teams traded turnovers before Bratt scored just under six minutes later. Hughes’ pass deep in the Carolina zone was picked off by Roslovic, but Roslovic’s backhanded dish was intercepted by Ondrej Palat. The left winger passed to Hughes, who was stationed to the left of Martin, before Hughes fed Bratt for a point-blank power-play goal with 5:15 left.
Another nifty pass into the crease by Hughes set up Noesen’s goal 46 seconds into the middle period, when Noesen capped a five-on-three sequence by flicking a shot over Martin’s glove. Bratt notched the secondary assist.
The Hurricanes tied the score just 12 seconds into the third on a power play. Martin Necas’ pass from the edge of the Carolina zone glanced off the back boards and to Svechnikov, whose shot from the bottom of the left faceoff circle sailed over Markstrom’s glove shoulder.
Hamilton put the Devils ahead to stay with 9:25 left. Dawson Mercer, who was behind the Hurricanes’ net, backhanded a pass to Hamilton, who sent a shot beyond a sliding Tyson Jost and over Martin’s glove.
The Hurricanes pulled Martin with about 3:30 left but recorded just two shots with the extra skater.
