Taylor Hall and Shayne Gostisbehere each finished with a goal and two assists as the Carolina Hurricanes extended their winning streak to five games with a 5-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday in Raleigh, N.C.

Frederik Andersen finished with 27 saves, while Jackson Blake, Sebastian Aho and Eric Robinson also scored as the Hurricanes extended their point streak to 12 games (9-0-3).

Simon Edvinsson and Patrick Kane scored for the visiting Red Wings. Cam Talbot made 31 saves in the loss.

Hall made no mistake with 5:55 remaining in the first period as he stormed in on a breakaway and made a slick backhand-to-forehand deke before placing the puck into the back of the net to make it 1-0 for the Hurricanes.

Carolina took advantage of the game’s first power play as Aho slid a low shot that bounced off the stick of a defender and into the back of the net with just 8 seconds remaining in the opening period.

Robinson made it 3-0 for the Hurricanes just under three minutes into the second period as he jammed his shot past an outstretched Talbot.

Talbot made his best save of the night with 9:36 remaining in the middle frame as he quickly slid across his crease to rob Logan Stankoven.

Edvinsson got the Red Wings on the scoreboard with a goal on a 4-on-4 with 1:34 remaining in the second period as the young defenseman took a pass from Alex DeBrincat and sent it into the top corner past Andersen.

Kane then made it a one-goal game just 47 seconds later as he ripped a shot over the shoulder of Andersen on the short side for his first goal in the past 15 games.

Gostisbehere played a quick give-and-go with Blake and then fired a shot past Talbot to retake a two-goal lead for Carolina 2:18 into the third period.

Blake then grabbed a goal of his own as he came down on a 2-on-1, looked off the pass and sent his shot into the far side of the net with 14:30 left in the third to make it 5-2.
