Cole Caufield had two goals — including the winner 44 seconds into overtime — and an assist as the Montreal Canadiens responded after blowing a three-goal lead to defeat the host Seattle Kraken 4-3 on Tuesday.

Juraj Slafkovsky and Alex Newhook also scored for Montreal while goaltender Jakub Dobes made 18 saves to improve to 6-0-0 this season.

Nick Suzuki recorded three assists and Noah Dobson registered two helpers for the Atlantic Division-leading Canadiens, who wrapped up a 3-1-0 four-game trip. Suzuki extended his point streak to 10 games (two goals, 14 assists), the longest in the NHL this season.

Brandon Montour had two goals and an assist and Shane Wright also scored for the Kraken, who had a two-game winning streak snapped and lost for the first time in four home games this season. Joey Daccord stopped 17 of the 21 shots he faced.

In overtime, Caufield took a pass from Suzuki at the offensive blue line and skated down the left wing. He stuffed the puck past Daccord at the near post. With that tally, Caufield broke the team mark for overtime goals. He now has 11, one more than Howie Morenz and Max Pacioretty each collected.

Trailing 3-0, the Kraken scored three times in a span of 9:20 in the third to tie it.

The Kraken got on the scoreboard on the power play at 8:57 of the period. Montour’s shot from the blue line deflected off the stick of Montreal’s Alexandre Carrier and into the upper left corner of the net.

Seattle pulled within a goal on a 4-on-4 situation at 15:17. Eeli Tolvanen kept the play alive behind the net and got the puck to Montour, who fed Wright for a slap shot from the top of the right faceoff circle that beat Dobes high to the glove side.

With Daccord pulled for an extra attacker, Montour tied it at 18:17 on a blast from the left point that beat a screened Dobes.

Caufield opened the scoring at 10:25 of the first period. Dobson knocked down Vince Dunn’s clearance attempt along the boards on the right wing and sent a backhanded shot through a screen that Daccord stopped. Suzuki tried to stuff the rebound past Daccord, but the puck rolled under the prone goalie and through the crease to a wide-open Caufield low on the left wing, and he slammed a shot into the open side of the net.

The Canadiens doubled their advantage at 17:28 of the first with some precision passing on the power play. Suzuki got the puck along the boards and fed Caufield low on the left wing. Caufield immediately forwarded a pass to Slafkovsky in the slot for a one-timer.

The Canadiens made it 3-0 on a man advantage at 5:55 of the third. Kirby Dach’s shot from low on the left wing deflected off the skate of defenseman Jamie Oleksiak and right to Newhook at the right faceoff dot, and Newhook snuck a one-timer through Daccord’s pads.
