Rasmus Ristolainen scored with 26 seconds left in overtime as the Philadelphia Flyers nipped the visiting Detroit Red Wings 2-1 on Tuesday.

Joel Farabee had a goal and an assist for Philadelphia, which improved to 5-0-1 over its past six games. Samuel Ersson made 27 saves for the hosts.

Ben Chiarot scored the only goal for Detroit, which has lost four of its past five games (1-3-1). Alex Lyon stopped 24 shots against his former team.

Right before the decisive goal, Detroit’s Patrick Kane got in behind the defense and lifted a backhander that Ersson may have gotten a piece of as it sailed high.

Philadelphia rushed back the other way with Morgan Frost finding a streaking Owen Tippett in front of the net. Tippett shifted to his backhand and Lyon pokechecked the puck, which sat right on the goal line before Ristolainen came charging in to knock it home.

Early in overtime, Noah Cates had the puck on his stick in the slot but fumbled it and failed to record a scoring chance. About 30 seconds later, Ersson stoned Alex DeBrincat on a wrister from the right circle.

Detroit outshot Philadelphia 27-21 in regulation, holding the hosts to just three shots in the second period, before the Flyers held a 5-1 shots edge in the extra session. One of Ersson’s key stops in regulation came against a wide-open Andrew Copp with about 30 seconds left in the third.

Farabee opened the scoring 5:21 into the second period. Sean Couturier got his stick on a loose puck near the front of the net and then slipped a blind pass to Farabee, who shifted to his backhand and lifted the puck past Lyon for his seventh of the season and his first since Dec. 29.

The Red Wings drew even 30 seconds into the third period. Lucas Raymond found a loose puck in the corner and then escaped before finding Chiarot in the left circle for a wrister that beat Ersson.
