Dylan Guenther’s power-play goal with 5:53 left broke a tie and gave the Utah Hockey Club a 2-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks in Salt Lake City on Sunday night.

Logan Cooley also scored for Utah, Clayton Keller assisted on both goals, and Karel Vejmelka stopped 14 of 15 shots.

Jake DeBrusk got the only goal for the Canucks, who were held to one for the second consecutive game.

Arturs Silovs made 30 saves in his first NHL appearance since Nov. 27. Silovs was recalled from the Abbotsford Canucks of the American Hockey League on Saturday.

Both teams also played on Saturday. Vancouver lost 3-1 on the road to the Vegas Golden Knights, and Utah fell 5-3 to the host Los Angeles Kings.

With the Canucks’ Derek Forbort in the penalty box for holding, Guenther tipped in Nick Schmaltz’s shot/pass, which came from just above the right circle. Guenther’s 21st goal of the season stretched his point streak to six games.

The Canucks’ Elias Pettersson shot high on a breakaway with 9:20 left in regulation, and Utah’s Josh Doan was foiled by Silovs on a breakaway chance with 7:15 remaining.

DeBrusk opened the scoring with a power-play goal 1:43 into the second period. He jammed in a pass from Pettersson for his 21st goal of the season and second in two games.

But the lead did not last long. Cooley, who had been in the penalty box for hooking DeBrusk when the latter, tied it at 1 just 2:08 later when he tipped in a shot from the right point by defenseman John Marino. It was Cooley’s 16th goal.

Silovs stopped Logan Crouse on a breakaway 7:30 into the middle period.

Utah outshot Vancouver 22-8 through the first two periods.

The Canucks were without star defenseman and captain Quinn Hughes because of an oblique injury for the sixth consecutive game.
