Connor McDavid matched a career-high 17-game point streak with a goal and an assist as the Edmonton Oilers handed the host Winnipeg Jets their 11th straight loss with a 4-3 victory.

Evan Bouchard also had a goal and an assist, while Vasily Podkolzin and Zach Hyman got on the board for Edmonton with goals. Calvin Pickard stopped 13 pucks in net for the Oilers.

Kyle Connor had a goal and an assist for Winnipeg, while Tanner Pearson and Josh Morrissey also scored. Mark Scheifele had two assists. Netminder Connor Hellebuyck made 26 stops for the Jets.

The Jets opened the scoring at 11:11 of the first period when Connor slipped into the slot, took a pass from Scheifele and snapped a shot past the goaltender.

Podkolzin sparked a flurry of late scoring by tying the game 1-1 for Edmonton at the 17:02 mark of the period, fighting off a check from Alex Iafallo before burying a wrist shot off a slick pass from Kasperi Kapanen.

Winnipeg answered 1:14 later as Pearson restored the lead with a wraparound goal, and then the Jets made it 3-1 just 40 seconds after that when Morrissey’s shot bounced in the crease and slipped past Pickard.

McDavid pulled Edmonton within one with 21 seconds left in the second period, redirecting a Leon Draisaitl pass off his skate and onto his stick before popping it into the net to cut Winnipeg’s lead to 3-2.

With 11:41 remaining in the third period, Hyman raced in alone and wristed a shot over Hellebuyck’s shoulder to tie the game 3-3.

Edmonton took its first lead of the game 2:18 later on the power play after a delay-of-game penalty to Nino Niederreiter, as Bouchard walked in from the point and made it 4-3 to give the Oilers the win.
