The Vancouver Canucks agreed to a two-year, $3.6 million extension with forward Teddy Blueger, the team announced Wednesday.

Blueger matched his career high of 28 points (six goals, 22 assists) last season in his first campaign with Vancouver. He signed with the Canucks as a free agent prior to the season.

“Teddy was a key addition to our team last year and we are really excited to have him back for a couple more seasons,” Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin said in a news release. “His versatility and experience really helped our group in both the regular season and playoffs. He is a strong leader and someone we will count on a lot more moving forward.”

Blueger, 29, has 41 career goals and 126 points in 336 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins (2018-23), Vegas Golden Knights (2023) and Canucks. He helped the Golden Knights win the Stanley Cup.

Blueger was originally a second-round selection in the 2012 NHL Draft by Pittsburgh.
