The Boston Bruins placed Jake DeBrusk on long-term injured reserve on Thursday and recalled fellow forward Chris Wagner from Providence of the American Hockey League.

By being placed on long-term injured reserve, DeBrusk will be out a minimum of 10 games and 24 days.

DeBrusk, however, is expected to miss approximately four weeks after he sustained hand and lower-body injuries during the Winter Classic on Sunday. Despite being limited, DeBrusk scored the game-tying and winning goals in the Bruins’ 2-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins at Fenway Park in Boston.

DeBrusk, 26, was spotted in a walking boot after the game.

His 16 goals trail only David Pastrnak (25) for the team lead. His 30 points are tied with captain Patrice Bergeron for third-best on the club.

DeBrusk has totaled 206 points (108 goals, 98 assists) in 357 career games since being selected by Boston with the 14th overall pick of the 2015 NHL Draft.

Wagner, 31, has 11 points (nine goals, two assists) in 27 games this season for Providence. He has appeared in 359 NHL games over eight seasons with four teams and has tallied 37 goals and 26 assists.
