Bo Horvat had a goal and two assists and the visiting New York Islanders defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-3 on Saturday night.

Maxim Tsyplakov, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Isaiah George, Noah Dobson and Mathew Barzal also scored for the Islanders, who had lost their two previous games. Alexander Romanov, Simon Holmstrom and Anders Lee each added two assists. Ilya Sorokin stopped 27 shots.

William Nylander scored twice for the Maple Leafs, who had a three-game winning streak end. Bobby McMann also scored. Joseph Woll made 28 saves.

Toronto was without Auston Matthews (upper-body injury).

The Islanders led 3-1 after one period.

Tsyplakov scored at 1:47 after Horvat circled behind the net and made a pass to the slot.

Horvat scored his 250th career goal on a snap shot from the right circle at 4:48 after Romanov’s pass.

Nylander took a pass from John Tavares, skated in from just below the blue line and flipped a high backhand shot past Sorokin at 12:29.

A blocked shot in the Islanders zone started a breakout for Romanov that resulted in Pageau’s goal at 16:08. Lee took a shot from Romanov’s pass and Pageau put in the rebound.

Nylander scored while falling when he converted a pass from David Kampf at 5:43 of the second period. Nylander leads Toronto in goals with 23.

George scored his first career NHL goal at 5:23 of the third period on a wrist shot from just above the left circle.

Dobson scored his fifth goal of the season at 10:36 of the third to bump the lead to three.

McMann scored from the left circle at 13:49 of the third.

Toronto removed Woll for an extra attacker at 15:15. Barzal scored into an empty net at 17:40.

There were no penalties in the game.

New York’s Anthony Duclair, playing for the first time since Oct. 19 because of a lower-body injury, had one assist.

The teams play again in Toronto on Dec. 31 and again in Elmont, N.Y., on Jan. 2.
