Jordan Kyrou scored the decisive goal in the third period as the St. Louis Blues edged the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 on Tuesday in a game marred by a medical scare.

Blues forward Dylan Holloway was hit in the neck by a puck late in the first period, then completed his shift but required medical attention on the bench. He subsequently was taken away from the bench on a stretcher and was hospitalized for evaluation.

The team reported that Holloway was alert and stable.

Oskar Sundqvist and Alexey Toropchenko also scored for the Blues, who won their second straight game.

Jordan Binnington made 21 saves to earn his 149th victory for the Blues, boosting him past Jake Allen and into sole possession of second place on the franchise’s all-time list. Mike Liut is first at 151.

Nick Perbix and Victor Hedman scored and Nikita Kucherov had two assists for the Lightning, who lost their third consecutive game to complete a 1-3 road trip. Goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy made 20 saves.

Tampa Bay held the Blues without a shot for the first nine minutes of the game and outshot them 9-3 in the scoreless first period.

Perbix put Tampa Bay up 1-0 with a slick move around defenseman Matthew Kessel coming off the left wing 2:39 into the second period. He slid the puck under Binnington, then poked it into the net with a second effort.

Sundqvist tied the game 1-1 by punching in the rebound of Kessel’s slap shot from the center point at 7:57 of the second.

With 1:35 left in the middle period, Toropchenko put the Blues ahead 2-1 by converting Radek Faksa’s centering pass with a point-blank shot.

Kyrou increased the Blues’ lead to 3-1 by scoring off the rush with 11:09 to play in the third period. He raced up the right wing and scored off Brayden Schenn’s cross-ice pass on a three-on-one break.

Hedman scored from the left point to cut Tampa Bay’s deficit to 3-2 with 8:17 to play.

With Vasilevskiy off the ice for an extra attacker, the Lightning applied pressure but failed to pull even.
