Kevin Fiala scored the go-ahead goal against his former team, and the Los Angeles Kings finished strong for a 5-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night in Saint Paul, Minn.

Trevor Lewis scored a pair of goals for the Kings, who earned their second victory in as many nights. Warren Foegele and Quinton Byfield had a goal apiece. Kings goaltender David Rittich stopped 23 of 24 shots.

Zach Bogosian scored for the Wild, who lost in regulation for only the second time in 12 games to start the season (8-2-2). Goaltender Filip Gustavsson allowed four goals on 27 shots.

The game remained scoreless until midway through the second period, when the Wild broke through.

Bogosian tallied on a long wrist shot through traffic. Rittich did not see the shot until it was too late, and the puck sailed past him stick side and into the net for Bogosian’s first of the season.

Los Angeles pulled even at 1-1 with 5:30 remaining in the second period. Foegele punched in a loose puck in front of the net for his fifth goal.

The Kings struck on the power play to pull ahead 2-1 with 1:05 remaining in the second period. Fiala blasted a one-timer from the top of the left circle for his seventh goal in 13 games. Fiala, who played for the Wild from 2019-22 before he was traded to Los Angeles, pumped his fist after the goal.

Lewis increased the Kings’ lead to 3-1 with 12:21 to go in the third period. His first shot from the slot was denied, but he got his own rebound and punched it in for his second goal of the season and the 100th of his career.

Los Angeles made it 4-1 on Byfield’s first goal of the season with 5:48 remaining in the third period. He scored on a deflection from the low slot.

An empty-net goal by Lewis made it 5-1 with 3:46 to go.
