New Orleans Saints receiver Michael Thomas will play on Sunday for the first time since December 2020.

He was listed as active on the team’s pregame injury report.

Thomas missed most of the 2020 season and all of the 2021 campaign with an ankle injury and subsequent complications in his recovery.

He was limited in practice this week and was listed as questionable for the season opener against the host Atlanta Falcons.

Thomas, 29, set an NFL single-season record with 149 receptions during his last full season in 2019. The Offensive Player of the Year led the league with 1,725 receiving yards and caught nine touchdowns that season.

Thomas has 510 catches for 5,950 yards and 32 scores in 70 games (62 starts) since New Orleans drafted him in the second round out of Ohio State in 2016.

Listed as inactive for the Saints were CB Paulson Adebo, who intercepted three passes last season, along with G Wyatt Davis, DE Tanoh Kpassagnon, WR Tre’Quan Smith, RB Dwayne Washington and TE Nick Vannett.

For the Falcons, the team announced rookie WR Drake London (knee) and CB Darren Hall (quad) will be active. Inactive were WR Damiere Byrd, RB Tyler Allgeier, OLB DeAngelo Malone, ILB Nick Kwiatkoski and OL Chuma Edoga.
