The New York Jets are releasing special teams star and wide receiver Braxton Berrios after the sides were unable to agree on a restructured deal, multiple outlets reported Thursday.
The move will save the Jets $5 million against their salary cap.
Berrios, 27, was named All-Pro in 2021 after averaging a league-high 30.4 yards per kick return and 13.4 yards per punt return.
He has 107 career receptions for 1,085 yards and five touchdowns in 65 games (five starts) for the Jets.
Berrios was selected in the sixth round of the 2018 draft by the New England Patriots, who waived him in August 2019.
