NFL News: Reports: Bills S Jordan Poyer drove 15 hours to play in game vs. Chiefs

Bills safety Jordan Poyer traveled 15 hours by van to Kansas City to play in Buffalo’s Week 6 game against the Chiefs, multiple media outlets reported Sunday.

Team doctors didn’t clear Poyer to play because of “resolving pneumothorax,” otherwise known as a collapsed lung, according to reports. They didn’t want him to travel to Kansas City by airplane due to the air pressure at such high altitudes, so Poyer took matters into his own hands.

The Bills set up Poyer and his family with a Mercedes sprinter van so they could get to Arrowhead Stadium. Poyer ended up making four tackles and played every defensive snap in the contest as the Bills (5-1) took down the Chiefs (4-2) 24-20 to secure the best record in the AFC.

Poyer then had to make the trek back home, too.

He thinks he’ll be cleared to fly soon, ESPN reported. Luckily, he won’t have to travel far next week, as Buffalo hosts the Green Bay Packers (3-3) on Sunday night.
