Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is having surgery on Tuesday to repair a 2019 shoulder injury, ESPN reported.
Cook, 27, originally sustained the injury in a Week 15 game against the Los Angeles Chargers in 2019.
He started all 17 games in 2022, posted his fourth consecutive 1,000-yard season and earned his fourth straight Pro Bowl selection.
Cook is expected to be healthy by the start of next season. “Dalvin has been absolutely dominant and we cannot wait until September,” his agency LAA Sports & Entertainment told ESPN.
Cook has rushed for 5,993 yards and 47 touchdowns and caught 221 passes for 1,794 yards and five scores in 73 games (72 starts) since the Vikings made him a second-round pick in 2017.
