Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs is week-to-week with a shoulder injury, NFL Network reported Monday.
He left Sunday’s 24-6 loss to the Detroit Lions with the injury and is a “long shot” to play in Week 13 at the New England Patriots, per the report.
Colts coach Shane Steichen said later Monday that he had no comment regarding the report but he would have an update Wednesday regarding Downs’ status.
Downs was injured after a 7-yard catch in the fourth quarter when he was tackled from behind and appeared to land on his shoulder.
Downs, 23, leads the Colts (5-7) with 53 receptions and ranks second on the team in receiving yards (594) in 10 games (six starts) this season. He shares the team lead with four touchdown catches.
Drafted in the third round in 2023, Downs has 121 catches for 1,365 yards and six touchdowns in 27 games (15 starts).
