Running back Kenyan Drake signed with the Green Bay Packers, joining the practice squad with a chance to be elevated quickly to help a depleted backfield.
The 29-year-old posted a series of messages on X noting he was in Green Bay, where injuries are piling up at the position.
The Packers (6-6) have been without running back Aaron Jones for the past two games due to a knee injury.
Drake was released by the Baltimore Ravens on Oct. 17 after appearing in two games. He joined the practice squad of the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 31 but was released on Nov. 28. He spent the 2023 preseason with the Indianapolis Colts.
Drake has rushed for 3,866 yards and 33 touchdowns and has 218 catches for 1,655 yards and eight scores in 103 games (44 starts) with the Miami Dolphins (2016-19), Arizona Cardinals (2019-20), Las Vegas Raiders (2021) and the Ravens (2022-23).
Jones has been limited to 66 carries for 245 yards and two touchdowns in seven starts this year. AJ Dillon has carried the load in his absence despite dealing with a groin injury.
